Brenna Gerlach acquired her BFA at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle; majoring in painting, print-making, and drawing. Most of her creative career has been in illustration and other 2D media; favoring aqueous media and cut paper. Recently, she has been working in clay and finds the endless possibilities of the medium, as well as the chemistry involved, fascinating, completely addictive and positively challenging. Brenna takes her illustrations and affinity of pattern to the surfaces of her ceramics and melds them with her handmade forms. Her passions for travel, the outdoors, horticulture, and history are often subjects for her work. When she's not creating art, she can generally be found exercising her green thumbs in the garden or experimenting in the kitchen.
